The beautiful South West of England will be the theatre for your adventure and we will coach you at every step of the way ensuring you leave completely inspired and invigorated.
Spend the weekend off the beaten track/water! You will be hosted by the Adventure Coach team for 2 days and 2 nights of coaching/guiding and general adventures at the secluded Lopwell Barn. With direct access to the river Tavy for perfect SUP conditions and journeys, we will also head out onto nearby Dartmoor National Park for rock climbing and abseiling when the tide is out!"
Arrive and settle in to Lopwell Barn bunkhouse. We will have exclusive use of the bunkhouse and your stay will be fully catered. Spend the evening around the fire pit, learning survival fire techniques and planning the weekend’s activities.
Stand Up Paddleboard session at Lopwell. After breakfast we will run a morning of SUP adventures. Whatever your level, from complete beginner to regular paddler, we will bring on your skills with a maximum ratio of 1 Instructor to 5 paddlers.
Lunch at the barn and then head out onto local area for a land based adventure; rock climbing with our certified and very experienced climbing instructor. Learn to rock climb on some of the UKs best climbing crags.
Yoga and mindfulness on the river bank to start your day. After breakfast we will either head out onto the water for a SUP journey down the river Tavy to Bere Ferres. This is a beautiful journey, with plenty opportunity for coaching and safety tips along the way. Or We really test your mettle on Dartmoor's highest abseil at the Dewerstone!
Adventure and Survival Skills
Spend your days stepping outside your comfort zone, climbing and abseiling. Spend your evening learning essential survival skills of fire lighting, shelter building and campfire cooking. Guided by performance coaches who know the science behind what makes people tick.
You will be based in a remote Dartmoor lodge, where you will be hosted by The Adventure Coach team. For 2 nights and 2 days we will give you the opportunity to challenge yourself on some of Dartmoor's most rugged terrains. This is a weekend adventure designed so you don't need to take any days off work.
Arrive at your base - the Dewerstone cottage - where you will recharge by the log burning stove and settle in to your remote granite lodge. Enjoy your evening meal with your friends while you plan the next 48hrs of adventure...
Your first challenge; rock climbing on a Dartmoor tor. Learn knot tying, belaying and climbing techniques and test your skills on some of the UKs best climbing crags. Explore some of the theories that help explain when we feel our most capable or when we feel the fear.
Lunch back at Dewerstone cottage and some time to relax in this incredible, secluded location.
Next up its a short walk to our private, wild campsite where you will get a chance to learn survival skills under the expert tuition from one of our former military survival guides. Spend the evening cooking your own meal on the campfire enjoying Dartmoor's dark night sky. If you are feeling brave (and your shelter building skills are up to scratch) choose to sleep out wild for the night, under our expert supervision. A perfect opportunity for personal reflection and creating big plans
Wake up early with a morning energiser up to the top of the Dewerstone Crag and take in the views. Head back to the cottage for a full English or continental breakfast then get ready for another day of adventure. Experience the power of high spec performance coaching with a 1-2-1 coaching session with one of our certified coaches.
Test your rope work skills and your courage on Dartmoor's highest abseil, straight over the edge of the Dewerstone main cliff. Finish the morning with another opportunity to rock climb, bringing all your new skills and thoughts together.
After lunch we will its time to head home, having had a complete adventure escape in just 48hrs!
The only prerequisite is that you come along with your own big dreams and challenges. As performance coaches we want to help you explore what it is that you want to achieve with your life, what your current challenges are and how you are now going to overcome them.
We provide all the specialist equipment for the roped activities and survival. You will need to come with a simple rucksack, appropriate outdoor clothing and footwear and a sleeping bag.
We will have exclusive use of a remote Dartmoor bunkhouse, the Dewerstone cottage. The cottage has 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a fully fitted kitchen, large lounge with wood burning stove and it's own riverside wild campsite.
