Trek to Annapurna Sanctuary

A Himalayan outing through epic high altitude mountain landscapes into wilderness trails that are gentle and welcoming; taking you right into the heart of the Annapurna’s.

As we head out from the pretty ‘city of lakes’’ - Pokhara through charming terraced villages brimming with life, we trek for several days to go between Machhapuchare and Hiunchuli. It is these gigantic peaks that seem to stand as nature’s guards to the gateway of the shimmering glacial valley that’s home to the Annapurna Sanctuary, named so because of its geographical wonders of tranquility, beauty and the celestial presence of the Hindu goddesses, Annapurna and Gangapurna. This is a massive ice laden cirque that forms some of the uppermost mountains in the world, including the dominating South Face of Annapurna. We spend some time hereabouts exploring, as we check out the famous Annapurna Base Camp, situated at 4,130m/13,550ft.
